LDS Temple Display (Updated)
September Savannah College of Art and Design has their weekend of orientation. On Sunday evening of that weekend they have a 'Community Picnic' where the local religious organizations can come and promote, and give information to students looking for a religious base. Having just moved to Savannah my Ward, or congregation, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints which I attend was mentioning they wanted to really kick up their presence at this event because last year was really last minute. I heard about it and well this is what happened...
Above are the original sketch-up renderings of what we were going to do for the booth, we planed to build a 20' facade of an LDS temple, which is considered to be special and holy places in my religion, and the iconic Angel Moroni is placed on most of these buildings. Behind the facade was to be a 10' x 10' gazebo tent with tables holding literature, a television with an informative DVD playing, and a table with food a staple to any good gathering.
At the 'picnic' it was all set up and we had a really good turn out! This project was definitely a success!
Thanks for taking the time to check out this project! Also a huge thank you to all those who helped bring this to life! It really took a village to build this 'temple'.

This is a color schematic and elevation of the design, but after finally being able to get ahold of the SCAD events office we learned it could only be 6' wide and we could only have one table. So we adjusted the plans and made the project more like a lego set where the pieces could be connected different ways to create different sized facades. And below are some pictures of us building the facade.
